  • DIAMOND Sharpening stones
You may know Naniwa for their high quality water stones, however you may not know they also make an impressive line of diamond abrasive stones. These stones employ diamond abrasive bound in layer of resin mounted to a sturdy metal base. Rather than the single layer of diamonds found on many other diamond abrasive plates, the diamond abrasive layer on these stones is 1mm thick. This layer of diamond impregnated resin allows the stone to shed worn or loaded layers to expose a fresh cutting surface. This slow shedding of worn surface makes for a water stone sharpening experience with diamond abrasives that can handle the hardest sharpening situations. A light spray of water and Naniwa Diamond Stones are set to sharpen. Naniwa Diamond Stones are particularly useful when you want a water stone style sharpener, but are working with extremely hard steel or ceramic. Each Naniwa Diamond Stone comes with a smaller dressing stone.
  • PROFESSIONAL series

PROFESSIONAL series is the pinnacle of sharpening stones from Japanese manufacturer NANIWA. Stones do not need to be submerged too long and are ready for use fairly quickly. This line replaces the former series Naniwa Chosera and the binding material has been improved since. These stones are without compromise and offer maximum sharpening effect with minimal wear.

  • S2 Super Stone series

S2 Super Stone is a series of sharpening stones especially suited for final polishing. Stones offer high polishing effect and stay flat for long time, while offering comparable experience as with sharpening on soft natural stones. These stones are ideal even for sharpening of hard carbon steel. Soak the stone for at least 10 minutes prior to use. Do not store submerged. Aluminum oxide (corundum) is used as abrasive. Naniwa changed the name and packaging of the stones (formerly Super Stone series only for Japan, after that Sharpening series for Europe and now Super Stone worldwide), but stones themselves remained unchanged. S2 marking signifies 2cm thickness of the stone.

  • S1 Super Stone series

S1 Super Stone series is an equivalent to S2 Super Stones. The difference in naming is only due to different thickness which is 10mm for S1. The S1 Super Stone series is a more affordable alternative for sharpening needs with minimal material removal or for final polishing. Naniwa changed the name and packaging of the stones (formerly Super Stone series only for Japan, after that Sharpening series for Europe and now Super Stone worldwide), but stones themselves remained unchanged.

  • Super Stone sharpening...
Sharpening wheels for low speed water cooled grinders made by Japanese manufacturer NANIWA.
  • TRADITIONAL series

TRADITIONAL series offers affordable sharpening stones for basic sharpening. Silicon carbide is the dominant abrasive, however there are other materials used (stone T-901 is from aluminum oxide). Stones have relatively hard structure and last flat longer. They are suitable for both tool steel alloys and also for carbon steel. Submerge the stone for at least 10 minutes prior to use (or until there are no more bubbles rising from stone). Do not leave the stone permanently submerged. Naniwa has changed name and packaging of these stones (formerly DX series) but the stones themselves remain unchanged.

  • Multi Stone Series

Multistone is a new affordable line of combination stones from Japanese company NANIWA. Abrasive used is corundum (aluminum oxide). Stones have a relatively hard binder compared to other cheap stones and you can expect great longevity from them. These stones have, without a doubt, the best performance/price ratio in our stones product range. We can happily recommend these stones to all beginners to sharpening. Made in Vietnam under supervision by Japanese manufacturer NANIWA.
