More info
The Microplane Professional 2.0 Coarse is a versatile coarse grater for everyday savory and sweet dishes. Its sharp teeth create small, regular strips of hard cheese, carrots, coconut, nuts or chocolate. It also handles aromatic ingredients well: it processes ginger, garlic, onions or shallots finely, so they easily combine with soup, sauce, marinade or the base of a stir-fry dish. It cuts the raw material precisely, instead of crushing or tearing it; the result is a clean texture and better preserved aroma.
The innovative Professional 2.0 series combines the performance typical of Microplane with an all-stainless steel construction and a sober professional look. The ergonomic square handle with a matte chrome finish is comfortable to hold even during prolonged work. The non-slip finish helps the grater rest firmly on the work surface and a hole in the handle allows for hanging. The photo-etched stainless steel blade is made in the USA. After use, it is usually enough to rinse it immediately; washing in the dishwasher is possible, but the manufacturer recommends gentle hand washing to maintain sharpness for longer. The package includes a reusable cover that protects the blade and hands when stored in a drawer.

About the manufacturer:
The American brand Microplane has a long tradition in the field of carpentry with its high-quality rasps. The big breakthrough came in 1994. A Canadian housewife's old grater had worn out while she was making an orange cake, so she reached for a carpenter's rasp from her husband's workshop. The orange peel was transformed into fine, perfect strips in no time. And so the foundations were laid for the future success of the Microplane brand in the kitchen. It didn't take long to come - within five years, The New York Times wrote about the graters' growing popularity among leading chefs. Within three years, a line of Microplane graters was created, designed for professional kitchens.
