More info
The Microplane Professional 2.0 Medium Ribbon is a fast, two-way grater for when you need to process larger quantities of ingredients without unnecessary idle movements. The special ribbon blade works both back and forth and creates medium-fine, thin strips with a more pronounced texture than a fine blade. It is suitable for hard and soft cheeses for omelets, casseroles and baked dishes, but also for zucchini, cabbage, carrots, radishes, apples, potatoes, onions, nuts or chocolate. You can use strips of carrots or other vegetables for salads and garnishes, and grated potatoes and onions for potato pancakes, for example.
The Professional 2.0 series relies on an all-stainless steel design, long service life and a clean appearance without unnecessary decorations. The square ergonomic handle with a matte chrome finish provides a sure grip and the non-slip rubber end stabilizes the grater when resting on a cutting board or worktop. The photo-etched stainless steel blade is made in the USA and cuts ingredients precisely, so you don't have to squeeze them unnecessarily. A practical hole in the handle serves as a hanging hook. After work, the grater can be quickly rinsed; although it is dishwasher safe, gentle hand washing helps maintain its sharpness longer. The included protective cover makes it easy to store safely in a drawer.

About the manufacturer:
The American brand Microplane has a long tradition in the field of carpentry with its quality rasps. The big breakthrough came in 1994. The old grater of a Canadian housewife reached the end of its service life while preparing an orange cake, so she reached for a carpenter's rasp from her husband's workshop. The orange peel turned into fine and perfect strips in an instant. And so the foundations were laid for the future success of the Microplane brand in the kitchen. It didn't take long to come true – within five years, The New York Times was writing about the graters' growing popularity among top chefs. Within three years, a line of Microplane graters was created, designed for professional kitchens.
