More info
The Professional 2.0 Zester continues the iconic long and narrow shape for which the brand is famous. Approximately one hundred tiny, extremely sharp teeth create very fine, light shavings resembling fibers. It easily removes the aromatic colored layer of the peel from citrus fruits; when guided correctly, it does not interfere with the white part that tastes bitter. It grates Parmesan and other hard cheeses, ginger, garlic, nutmeg, cinnamon, chocolate, truffles or nuts equally well. The fine result dissolves quickly in food and evenly distributes the flavor, so it is suitable for doughs, creams, dressings, sauces and as a light final decoration.
The photo-etched stainless steel blade cuts ingredients cleanly without unnecessary crushing and is made in the USA. The Professional 2.0 version adds a durable all-stainless steel body and a modern square handle with a matte chrome finish. The ergonomic shape is comfortable to hold, the non-slip end makes it easy to rest securely and the hole in the handle allows the zester to be hung. After use, it is most effective to rinse the blade immediately under running water in the direction of the teeth. The zester is dishwasher safe, but hand washing is gentler on long-term sharpness. Thanks to its narrow profile, it does not take up much space; the included reusable cover protects the delicate teeth and fingers when storing in a drawer.

About the manufacturer:
The American brand Microplane has a long tradition in the field of carpentry with its high-quality rasps. The big breakthrough came in 1994. The old grater of a Canadian housewife reached the end of its service life while preparing an orange cake, so she reached for a carpenter's rasp from her husband's workshop. The orange peel was transformed into fine, perfect strips in an instant. And so the foundations were laid for the future success of the Microplane brand in the kitchen. It didn't take long to come - within five years, The New York Times wrote about the graters' growing popularity among leading chefs. Within three years, a line of Microplane graters was created, designed for professional kitchens.
